ALVAREZ CELEBRTES WITH RIVER CITY YOUTH FOUNDATION
(Austin)- On December 12, 2009, Raul Alvarez celebrated with the River City Youth Foundation gift giveaway. The River City Youth Foundation is an organization that helps families in need. The organization this year was involved in giving away toys to families.
The event was located at Dove Springs Recreation Center. Many families attended the event to meet Santa Claus and many kids received gifts for the opportunity to have a great Christmas. May families are in tough economic times and the foundation is helping families put a smile on their kids faces.
"The River City Youth Foundation is doing a wonderful job for the families of this community, "Alvarez said. I believe this event shows how important our kids are to the future of Travis County and City of Austin."
Raul, his 11 month old son, Joseph, showed their support for the River City Youth Foundation's Merry Memories holiday celebration at which toys were distributed to over 1000 children in Southeast Austin/Precinct 4!"Alvarez understands the importance of helping out the community to make sure families have a Christmas to remember.
Alvarez served on the city council from 2000-2006. In 2008, he was elected to ACC's Board of Trustees. He is currently working for AISD as grass-roots coordinator AISD's office of design. Alvarez is also a founding member of Futurofund and is heavily involved with community participation in issues dealing with East Austin.
